The Cold War in Southeast Asia
There is much about the Cold War in Southeast Asia that still remains shrouded in mystery. Shedding more light on this enthralling topic is a group of distinguished international experts who will come together for a new series of public lectures. Their aim is to illuminate with discourses on various aspects of the theme such as whether the "domino effect" was overblown, or was there a real threat of rampant communism in Southeast Asia after the Second World War, and what the rest of the world should and could have done to assist those who did not want to trade one form of colonial rule for ideological domination. Jointly organised by The History Channel, the National University of Singapore, the Asia Research Institute and the National Library Board, “The Cold War in Southeast Asia” promises to be a series of seminars that you'll simply not want to miss.
